AMD’s Much Awaited 4000 APU and Benchmark

The Biggest release yet again by AMD. Ryzen 4000 series desktop processors released for the consumers. But there is a catch and disappointing news as-well.

Maybe the disappointment might be short-lived as AMD releasing these new AMD 4000 APUs and Ryzen Pro Renoir for the Original Equipment Manufactures for now. Means DYI Computers builders might have to wait for sometimes down the line. Never the less as per our sources AMD will be releasing its 4000G and Ryzen PRO for the regular users soon. Even though there is no confirmation officially we can be sure it will happen very soon.

Both these much-talked processors are made upon AM4 sockets so if you have any older motherboards you will be able to use it. Without spending again on a new motherboard.

CPUs comes will feature four cores, Six Cores, and eight cores with multi-threading enabled. Ryzen 4000 APU will feature an integrated Vega graphic for high performance.

One doesn’t need to buy an expensive graphics card just for regular usage. These integrated GPUs are far better than what Intel can offer.

Earlier AMD’s Ryzen APU and Athlon APU Processors came with a maximum of 4 cores. But with these new Ryzen 4000, the user can get to 8 cores with integrated graphical Vega cores.

Ryzen Pro APU comes with two sets of TDP for high-performance 65W TDP and regular users 35W TDP. With L2 + L3 cache ranging from 6MB to 12MB respectively.

Both the 65W and 35W TDP processors are similar in performance aspect with little difference all together

Here are our Benchmarks for the high-end Ryzen 7 4700G APU:

The normal base clock is set to be around 3 -3.1 GHZ and it can boost up to 4.0 GHz frequencies. With Ryzen 7 4700G. And when tested the PRO Ryzen 4750G the Base clock was about 3.6 GHz and clocked up to 4.45 GHz as boost frequency. And this could be these APU are similar in performance with the Ryzen 7 3700x. And on some instances with a little bit of overclocking the performances are even better than the 3000 series as well. As these tested APU are of factory samples we can expect more refined products for us to buy.

Just to mention the test was carried out on the B5501 PRO AX motherboard with 16 gigs of Ram which are clocked at 4300 MHz.

The main attraction with the new APU is its infinity fabrics speed clocks at 2100 MHz. Hope this will give you an insight into the processors and the capabilities of the Ryzen 400 APU.

As per the data available the Ryzen 7 4700G was clocked at 4.3 GHz with a minor tweak here and there. And cooler used for this tested is also a normal one. An AIO Cooler 240mm size which was inside the ITX cabinet.

As far as the voltage is concerned it is about 1.3 – 1.34V overall during its peak clock frequency of 4.3

Here are our benchmark Scores as follows:
With Cine-bench R15, The Ryzen APU scratched the score of 2070 in multithread performance,

With Cine bench R20 it was about 4789 points. Which is better than the Ryzen 7 3800x CPUs. Very impressive performance indeed. Moreover, the APU was able to score about 5% more than the Intel flagship i9 9900KF CPU with 5Ghz clock speed.

As far as Graphical scores are concerned, Remember these are not as good as dedicated graphic card yet ana impressive one.

On the 3d Fire strike, the 4700G was able to hit 5100 and 2700 points in 3D Mark Fire Strike Extreme.

Experts believe that the final refined APU is set to break these scores with the sample APUs available for the testing.

These are very impressive APUs. AMD is set to overtake Intel’s dominance in the PC world. Intel is still struggling with its 14 nm processors. 10 nm CPUs are still miles always to get better at performance and 7 nm is still 2 years away. Till then AMD is set to rule the CPU market. And don’t forget by 2021-22 AMD might release their next-generation Ryzen with 5nm node.

Finally, to conclude the performance of the Ryzen 4700G and the rest of the line ups, the graphical scores are similar to Nvidia’s older GTX 950 performance. There are so many users still playing games with these GPUs as per steam data.
