Cabinet approved 9128 crores infrastructure plan in Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim

The Indian government Cabinet approves Revised Cost Estimates of Rs. 9129.32 crore for strengthening of Transmission and Distribution in Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim. The main objective of the scheme is the total economic development of Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim and to strengthen the Intra-State Transmission and Distribution Infrastructure in the states by providing grid connectivity to remote locations.

China has been carrying out a rapid military-infra upgrade across the Upper Subansiri district in Arunachal Pradesh including at least three new bridges, troop sheds and a new 66-kilometre road. the concern of the national security planners is the rapid infrastructure upgrades that the PLA is undertaking across Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. This brings the focus back to these two key states claimed by China as its own. India under the leadership of the current Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stepped up the defence infrastructure and connectivity. These two states where ignored by the previous government run by the Congress Party.

This has been the long-pending request from the two states but was ignored irresponsibly by the Congress party top brass which has taken a softer and idiotic approach towards the Chinese expansionist regime. Distribution Infrastructure in the states by providing grid connectivity to remote locations will address several issues and meet the aspiration of the people living in Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim.
