India and Taiwan to begin talks on new ‘Trade Deal’

As both democracies, facing critical threat from the Chinese communist regime, India and Taiwan deepen collaborations and ties. In support of growing ties between India and China, a new trade deal to be signed between both nations.

India and Taiwan relationship are in upward trajectory recently. India’s ties with Taiwan has been a quiet ceremony in the past. But things have changed tremendously in recent time for good.

As per my understanding, the long-pending request from the free nation of Taiwan for trade deal going to be a reality. India has been reluctant to the Taiwanese request in the past even by the current nationalist government lead by PM Modi.

Due to heightened tension at the border with China. the hawks in India has been pushing for more deepening ties with the island nation. Point to remember is, that India still not divided from the one china policy. But this might change even without an official announcement.

Indian business sectors weighing Taiwan as an Apt replacement for the Chinese imports. Taiwan is known for its advanced electronic and could benefit from 1.3 billion people market in India. This could be a Win-Win situation for both countries.

Taiwan is seeking greater investment in the electronic manufacturing sector in India as per sources. The Indian government as approved the investments from the Taiwan electronic giants like Foxconn, Wistron and Pegatron Corp. The investment could be worth more than Rs 10 lakh crore, around 142 billion US dollars.

A formal talks on trade or ant other with the government of India wi be a huge win for Taiwan. The island nation is expected to pressure China with new trade agreements with superpowers like India, US, Russia to name a few.

So far India does not recognise Taiwan as an independent country, due to pressure pinned by China. So this official trade talks will be an interesting one.
