Leftwing Twitter suspends Kangana Ranaut for reporting alleged gang rape in West Bengal Violence

In a shocking display of curtailing freedom of speech, the US tech giant Twitter has suspended Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut account. The suspension came after she reported the alleged ‘Gang Rape’ incident in ongoing post-poll West Bengal violence allegedly by All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) party workers.

Twitter says Kangana Ranaut’s account has been “permanently suspended” for repeated violations of its rules on Hateful Conduct policy. Full statement by twitter.

In it’s statement the Left Wing Twitter has said “We’ve been clear that we will take strong enforcement action on behavior that has the potential to lead to offline harm. The referenced account has been permanently suspended for repeated violations of Twitter Rules specifically our Hateful Conduct policy and Abusive Behaviour policy. We enforce the Twitter Rules judiciously and impartially for everyone on our service.”

Social media has been flooded with reports of vandalism, violence against the political opposition party The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers and supporters. The state had witnessed a historic inroad for the BJP in the recently ended state election. In which the BJP party got 77 seats from mere 3 seats last time. The TMC leader and the Chief Minister of West Bengal have lost her seat in Nandigram, Suvendu Adhikari defeats Mamata Banerjee.

While the TMC party has bagged 213 seats and announced as the victor. But this did not stop the TMC party workers from unleashing violence against the political opposition party the BJP allergy.

Meanwhile shocked by the flooding plea for help from the Hindus and BJP workers in Bengal, Actor Kangana showed her support to the victims of political violence.

In her latest tweet, the Hollywood actor posted an alleged gang rape incident in ongoing post-poll violence on people.

Her tweet reads “Gang-raped BJP worker by TMC goons,  Indira Gandhi imposed emergency 39 times, and she told international media India does not care what you think get lost, this gawar bloodthirsty dehati nation does not know the language of love Modi Ji, they need danda #Bengal #BengalBurning” https://t.co/g2tW0UPpn8

Following which in a weird turn of events, the microblogging site Twitter has suspended her account. This has shocked and angered the Indian public who takes democracy and freedom of speech seriously in the country. And the freedom of expression is in the Indian constitution as at most priority.

But for Twitter taking sides in the internal political issue of India and many other countries has become a regular state of affairs. Twitter even banned former President Donald Trump in the middle of the US election 2020.

Twitter must understand, it is not above the Constitution of India. And must stop taking political stands in India or any other country.
