How low one can go to sell their country? If you have any idea about it, Pakistan will exceed your expectations. Pakistan govt has issued a directive or kind of law to all Pakistanis and Pak govt employees, mainly the military officials to purchase only Chinese phones such as Vivo, as Vivo plans to assemble its mobiles in Pakistan.
China is known to have intrusive access deep into the Pakistani government slabs. It goes high up to Prime Minister and Pakistan Army Chief. Not even concerned about the security threats posed by the Chinese Communist Government, Pakistan is ok with that. Quite frankly Pakistani government has sold out the security and private information of its citizen’s secrets to China.
There is a saying, A beggar can’t be a chooser. In Pakistan’s case, China gets the way even sometimes smuggle Pakistani girls with bogus marriage scams. The scam was widely debated in the Pakistani Media. But to date, no Chinese were punished and in Pakistani jails. That’s the power China has over Pakistan.
Here is the issue, About ₨18.17 trillion is owed by the government to domestic creditors, and about ₨13.78 trillion is owed by Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs). But About 15% of the external debt which is estimated around US$17.1 billion (6.15% of GDP) is owed to China due to China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. And international bodies believe Pakistan could have more debts that are not yet made public.
With this new dictate to its citizens, looks like Pakistan Authorities have been arm twisted. Chinese telecommunications companies, Applications, and many smartphones are banned in any part of the world. But in Pakistan, China has ordered the Pakistani government to make the ‘Buy Made In China Policy’ a compulsion.
I never wondered, Why Pakistan is called a Jokistan worldwide. I just wonder why Pakistan is not simply called just a ‘JOKE’.
