Pakistan government to start ganja business to earn money


The state-level industrial hemp cultivation project is being officially inaugurated today in Pakistan (Thursday).

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has been accused of consuming drugs including cocaine during his playing days by a former Pakistan cricketer, Sarfaraz Nawaz.

Federal Minister for Science and Technology Senator Shibli Faraz will inaugurate the project, dubbed as ‘Hemp Value Chain Development Program 2021’.

The inaugural ceremony of Industrial Hemp Cultivation was held at the Institute of Hydrophonic Agriculture at Kaliam Moor near Rawat.

The Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, the largest research organization of the Ministry of Science and Technology, will complete the project in collaboration with Pir Mehr Ali Shah Aird Agriculture University.

The project is being called the lead project of PCSIR. Industrial hemp cultivation will be done initially on five acres of land in the greenhouse of Rawat. The normal season of cannabis cultivation has come to an end. Indoor cultivation is being done.
