The Truth: Taiwan shots down a Chinese fighter jet

Today morning twitter accounts based in Taiwan posted shocking news. Multiple social media handles claimed that the Taiwanese air defence system has shot down an intruding Chinese airforce Su-35 fighter jet.

Allegedly the incident said to have taken place over the Taiwan Straits.

Following the tweets international Open source intelligence handles and mainstream media picked up the story and was flashing breaking news.

While the Chinese mouthpiece media outlets maintained a pin drop-dead silence, neither denying nor accepting the news. Which has caused even more confusion among social media users?

The News went viral in India, The country which is facing Chinese intrusion and open threats along indo-china border region namely The Line of Actual Control (LAC).

Indian Mainstream regional language media TV9 made a special exclusive prime time over the news and claimed the Chinese fight jet could have been shot down by THAAD missile defence system or another anti-aircraft missile system in use with Taiwan.

Until now there are no official sources either claiming the incident is true or false.

But what IFE News Network can gather so far, The aircraft crash did happen. The ill-fated jet could be single-engine J10C which crashed after taking off. Kindly note this info was from the Chinese handles who were quick to defend China and it’s image.

But still, there was no official confirmation from China or its state-controlled media.

But now verified twitter user, Nicola Smith-Asia correspondent for Telegraph, based in Taiwan has made a statement on her microblogging site twitter account.

As per her statement, she said ” Lots of speculation coming from Indian Twitter accounts claiming that Taiwan shot down a PLA jet. Taiwan’s Ministry of Defence has responded categorically that this is fake news.”

Later in the new tweet, she gave more details that she called the Taiwanese defence ministry. And they have denied such reports.

These are the statements made in her follow up tweets:

“Below is the original press statement from Taiwan’s ministry of defence. Only in Chinese for now, but says it “solemnly refutes” the internet reports that Taiwan shot down a PLAAF SU-35 and “strongly condemns” the dissemination of fake information 1/”

So the Taiwanese Defence Ministry official has categorically denied such incidents. And Taiwan did not shoot down the Chinese fighter jet.

Could be true the Chinese jet that crashed and those videos which were circulated on social media originating from Taiwan could well be due to poor quality Chinese equipment and parts.

Chinese parts and equipment are known to malfunction due to their poor quality and counterfeit designs stolen from Russia or another western world.
