The UN court rules its was ok for UNHRC to hand over names of dissidents to China

NOTE: Secretly telling the Chinese government in advance who will come to UN meetings. Consent of the human rights advocates is not sought – they are not even told. Impunity is policy.

This is scary, No joke: UN court today rules it was OK for the UN human rights office to hand names of dissidents over to China because it was about “building and maintaining a relationship with member states.“ The UN secretly told Beijing which Chinese rights activists were to attend United Nation meetings. Which means China can tamper the dissent with money power or muscle power or even completely silence them for ever.

The United Nation while a formidable idea once, has deteriorated into something that should go the same way as the League of Nations. We need something newer that represents all people of the world, not just the most powerful governments.

The UN says giving dissidents’ names to China is ok because politics trumps basic human rights principles. The UN’s internal appeals court ruled today that cannot be challenged. It is official – any UN staff member can break or make rules for China. If World Health Organisation are been blamed for saving China from the worst allegation of the century COVID-19, we have the UN which is now found guilty of providing special treatment to the Chinese.

Note the “practice” referred to in the document is the policy of secretly telling the Chinese government in advance who will come to UN meetings. Consent of the human rights advocates is not sought – they are not even told. Impunity is policy.

What did your report say about the issue?

It said “In the present instance, it is ultimately my assessment that the Complainant herself was aware that there could be different views regarding the information-sharing practice with a member state.

This assessment is based on a thorough review and consideration of the material referred to in paragraph 7. From that material, it seems clear that the Complainant strongly disapproved of this practice and felt that it was contrary to the principles of independence and impartiality of the international civil service, the humanitarian “do not harm” principle, and protection of confidentiality.

It also appears that the Complainant wanted the practice to be reviewed by higher or outside authority — which is for instance substantiated by the Complainant’s requests in 2013 to consult the Office of Legal Affairs.

However, based on the material I reviewed, it seems to me that all of this pointed to a disagreement on what I would call “ethics in programming” – i.e. an area where OCR senior management had to make difficult choices between building and maintaining a working relationship with member states and its human rights advocacy.

In other words, it appears to me that it was, or should have been reasonably clear for the Complainant, that there were a policy difference and disagreement, rather than a basis for a reasonable belief that misconduct by an individual staff member had occurred.”

This is the state of United Nation bodies. Which has completely surrendered to the Chinese. What kind of an idiot will trust China on human rights? Joe Biden! WHO! UNHRC! UN! God save our human race!
