Notorious Chinese App TikTok to be banned from Sunday onwards. The Trump administration taking a leaf out of India’s move, preparing to ban intrusive Chinese applications from Google play store.

Users will not be able to download TikTok as well as We Chat. Downloading these applications will be illegal in the US after November 12th.

According to the US government order accessed, If the deal is not made by 12 November this year, App will be fully banned. And from then using or downloading both TikTok and WeChat will be illegal and punishable by law.

TikTok and many other Chinese mobile applications are under the scanner for stealing data.

For those who are already downloaded the application will be able to use normally. After September 12th there will be no updates for the application.

After 12 November, it will be illegal in the US not only to distribute TikTok through app stores but also to provide the underlying internet infrastructure that powers it, or to allow its code to be accessible. That would effectively amount to a complete ban, with users unable to access the app at all.

WeChat will be entirely banned from 20 September, the order said.

Negotiations are going on between Chinese owners of TikTok and American company Oracle. Reportedly won the battle but still awaits government approvals from both countries. Or else the recently negotiated deal will be scrapped.
