Trump Fires US Secretary of Defence Mark Esper on Twitter


The US President Donald Trump terminates Mark Esper as US Secretary Of Defence. The announcement was made in his Twitter account just a minutes ago.

Mark Thomas Esper is the 27th and current United States secretary of defence, and a former U.S. Army officer and defence contractor lobbyist before his appointment. He previously served as the 23rd United States Secretary of the Army from 2017 to 2019.

Mark Esper will be replaced by Christopher C. Miller, the highly respected Director of the National Counterterrorism Center.

In his tweet President Trump said:

“I am pleased to announce that Christopher C. Miller, the highly respected Director of the National Counterterrorism Center (unanimously confirmed by the Senate), will be Acting Secretary of Defense, effective immediately.

…Chris will do a GREAT job! Mark Esper has been terminated. I would like to thank him for his service.”
