Aaditya Thackeray tests positive for Chinese COVID-19

Maharashtra Minister Aaditya Thackeray tests positive for Chinese coronavirus COVID-19.

Assigns of the second Covid-19 wave became apparent on Friday — 25,000-plus cases in Maharashtra for the second consecutive day and the Pune Metropolitan Region (PMR) breaching the 5,000 marks for the first time — CM Uddhav Thackeray reiterated that a lockdown is still an option. And in an attempt to boost vaccination coverage in the state, the Union ministry of health and family welfare has approved 134 smaller private hospitals in Maharashtra as Covid vaccination centres.

Also, the state government task force for Covid-19 has called for a three-pronged approach given the spike in Covid-19 cases — random testing at public places, increased vaccination of priority groups and a zero-tolerance policy towards those flouting norms. “On having mild symptoms of COVID, I had myself tested and I am COVID positive. I request everyone who came in contact with me to get themselves tested.

I urge everyone to realise that it is extremely important to not let your guard down. Please follow COVID protocols & stay safe” Aditya Thackeray tweeted.
