Russian President Vladimir Putin has launched a military operation in Ukraine, with explosions heard across the country and Ukraine’s foreign minister warning a “full-scale invasion” was under way.
Without any surprise, Russia’s ally China comes in support of the Russian action against Ukraine. Chinese Communist Party spokesperson blamed the US bullying policies against Russia for the crisis.
“When the U.S. drove five waves of NATO expansion eastward all the way to Russia’s doorstep…, did it ever think about the consequences of pushing a big country to the wall?” Chinese Communist Party spokesperson Hua Chunying.
Ukrainian President Zelenskyy said Russia had carried out missile strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure and border guards, and that explosions had been heard in many cities. An official also reported non-stop cyberattacks.
Zelenskyy said that martial law had been declared.
