Pakistan returned Wing Loong-2 drones to China due to the high crash rate

In January this year, China gave Pakistan Wing Loong-2 (Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicles), Which Pakistan had deployed in Balochistan and India-Pakistan border. Pakistan’s goal was to carry out a targeted assault operation on Balochistan civilians fighting for their freedom for decades. These drones were intended to be used similar to the US military from operations in Afghanistan.

One of the Pakistani military officers who don’t want to be named claimed that these drones were procured to create an unsafe environment for militants. At the same time will be used to attack the Indian forward border post in the near future.

But the plan is not going well it seems. Within 6 months, reportedly these Chinese drones Wing Loong-2 malfunctioned. When Pakistani forces launched these Chinese drones during an operational mission, 3 Wing Loong-2 was damaged in the middle of the mission and after losing control.

According to later reports, these Drones were to be deployed at Pakistani Air Force bases in Mianwali, Rafiki and Minhas, as well as in Balochistan.

But All of these Chinese UCAVs are facing critical engine and GPS sensor failures, Which is the reason why they have not been operational yet in July 2021. Pakistan sent all of these drones back to China for repair, but China has yet to fix them and return them to Pakistan. Pakistan technical investigation confirmed that this drone is made of low-quality material and not the same as what was promised by China. There will be a need for more maturity of several types of equipment in the Wing long 2 drones.
