A Massive revival of Tourism in Kashmir

Last year the COVID19 pandemic brought Tourism in Kashmir to a near-total halt, throwing the life of thousands of Kashmiris who depend on this sector, into disarray.

But the year 2021 is witnessing a good footfall of tourists, showing the signs of the revival of tourism in Kashmir, thanks to the tremendous initiatives taken by the administration & the unprecedented snowfall witnessed this year.

In the first two months of 2021, more than 45,000 tourists have already visited Kashmir, as compared to a mere 3750 in Jan 2020. The countless initiatives taken by the govt, including the hosting of winter games in Gulmarg, celebrities promoting tourism & Bollywood shootings in Kashmir, are bearing their fruits now.

The conducive atmosphere created in Kashmir with locals rejecting the terrorist’s ideology and embracing peace is the biggest contributing factor in the revival of tourism. The security forces have worked tirelessly to nip terrorism in the bud, by busting the terror funding modules and preventing the smuggling of arms & ammunition to the terror outfits. Thus thwarting the attempts of these terror outfits to disrupt peace in Kashmir.

Tourism is one of the biggest & most important sector in Kashmir, the livelihood of hundreds of thousands of Kashmiris depends on it directly or indirectly. The revival of this sector is a clear indicator that Kashmir is witnessing lasting peace and prosperity after many years.
